Sidera Paris: The Story of a House Born of the Stars

20 July 2026· Sidera Paris

How a model-turned-designer transformed an astrological obsession into a fashion house.

Sometimes it takes several lives to arrive at the right one.

Valery Kaufman lived the first one in magazines. Vogue, ELLE, LOfficiel, Harper's Bazaar. She walked for the houses whose names get written in italics. That isn't a CV — it's a starting point. Because, like many models before her, what she really spent years observing wasn't the light of the runway. It was the clothes. Their cut. Their origin. What they meant to say.

And more importantly — what they didn't say, often.

A conviction against the grain

Let's state a fact, to understand Sidera: we live in an era where fashion apologises. We produce fast, wear little, throw away without looking. Collections parade past. We can't remember the dress we wore last week. It's not a criticism — it's an observation.

Valery founded Sidera on the opposite idea. That fashion should matter again. That a garment should mean something. That we shouldn't dress by default, but with intent.

Hence the name.

Sidera, in Latin, means the stars. Not the sky — the stars, specifically. The reference points we've used, forever, to locate ourselves. To navigate. To tell the story of who we are.

That's the promise of the house: every Sidera piece is a reference point. A piece that looks enough like you to come with you for a long time, rather than a single season.

Astrology as language, not as belief

Something needs to be said about astrology at Sidera. We're not a brand that sells horoscopes. We don't claim to predict anyone's future.

What interests us is astrology as language. An ancient way — millennia-old, in fact — of naming what's hard to name. Some people are more earthbound. Others more airy. Some love structure; others, movement. The zodiac doesn't invent these differences — it gives them names.

And those names, for several thousand years now, have resonated with people who listen to themselves.

Sidera leans on that. We believe that a garment, if it's truly personal, has to vibrate at the same frequency as the woman wearing it. A Fire sign doesn't dress like a Water sign — that's self-evident to anyone who has tried both. Our work is to design pieces that respect these frequencies.

The zodiac medallion — a manifesto object

There's something we include with every Sidera order. Not a keychain. Not a loyalty card. A hand-engraved gold zodiac medallion, in the sign of your choice.

It's not incidental.

The medallion is the gesture that makes our philosophy concrete. We can sell you a beautiful dress — plenty of houses do, very well. But between you and the dress, we want to slide something extra. A signature. A talisman. An object that only makes sense to you, and that reminds you, each time you feel it against your skin, why you chose this piece and not another.

Our medallions are produced in Europe, in a small workshop, by hand. The gesture counts. The finish counts. It will accompany you for a long time. It's the first Sidera object — the one you can't buy separately, because it's part of the brand's commitment.

European atelier, limited series production

Another fact, because we prefer facts to slogans: Sidera produces in limited series, in European workshops.

None of our pieces are manufactured at scale. Every collection is deliberately small. Fabrics are chosen individually — satin, silk, chiffon, jersey — under strict specifications for origin and quality.

Why? Because producing less means producing better. Because a piece made with attention shows and feels the difference, even without saying it. Because we prefer a few hundred loyal women to thousands of passing customers.

It's a risky economic choice. It's also the only one that, for us, made sense.

A house, not a brand

A word on vocabulary, before we conclude. Sidera is a house, not a brand.

The difference isn't decorative. A brand sells a product. A house offers a universe. At Sidera, there's an aesthetic, a philosophy, a way of doing things — and above all, a coherence. The dresses vibrate with the jewellery, which vibrates with the swimwear, which vibrates with the medallion.

Nothing is there by accident.

That's what distinguishes a fashion house from a brand that pushes products. We don't push anything. We offer a language. What you make of it is up to you.

For what comes next

Sidera is still a young house. The collections to come will refine what has been started. There will be more pieces, more medallions, more ways of wearing the stars. We don't announce anything in advance — we prefer people to discover.

What we can promise is this: everything Sidera makes, we'll make with the same intention we have today. Little, but well. With the women the house loves, and for them.

Welcome to our universe.
